Ahmed Kadhim Hussein was born in Babylon City - Hilla - Iraq on 19 May 1974. Currently, he works as an assistant professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Babylon , Babylon City, Iraq. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Al-Mustansiriya - Iraq in 2006. Meanwhile, he is a reviewer of many local and international journals and conferences. He has about fifteen yeas of teaching and reserch work experience .In addition, he  is an editor of more than twenty-two international journals. Also , he is a member of many international scientific societies in Austria , Singapore , United States of America ,  Japan  and United Arab Emirates . His research work concerns numerical modelling of various areas of heat transfer, CFD, aerodynamics, nanotechnology, clean energy and extended irreversible thermodynamics. He has also more than fifty five appreciation letters from different scientific organizations around the world .He has published many papers in many local and international journals and conferences.

Alibakhsh Kasaeian was born in Tehran, Iran in 1975. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Renewable Energies at University of Tehran. He received his Ph.D degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Tehran in 2004. Before coming to University of Tehran (2010), he had seven years of experience as faculty member at University of Semnan and University of Zanjan. He is the head of solar energy lab at his faculty and before, he was the research chancellor of the Faculty of New Science & Technologies, University of Tehran. Dr. Kasaeian has 15 years of experience as expert, consultant and manager in the Iranian industry sector as well. He also has been the international consultant and manager of commercialization & technology transfer division at the Science & Technology Park, University of Tehran. His area of expertise and interest includes: renewable energies, solar energy conversion, heat transfer, nanofluid, and optimization. He is the author of around 100 ISI papers, published in reputed international journals. He also has registered 12 Iranian patents, mostly in the field of solar energy. Dr. Kasaeian is an editor in the Journal of Thermal Engineering, and guest editor in the International Journal of Photoenergy.

Balaram Kundu is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Jadavpur University. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2000. He worked as a Research Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, for three years. He is having more than seventeen years of experience in teaching and research on Thermal Engineering. His area of expertise includes: analytical and numerical heat transfer, solar collector, thermal insulation, extended surface heat transfer, fin-and-tube heat exchanger, biological heat transfer, optimization, etc. He is the author of more than seventy five papers published in reputed international journals with total impact point 148. Most of the papers have been published with sole or first authorship. He is recipient of institutional medal for the best paper published in the Journal of the Institution of Engineers (India), outstanding faculty award - the VIFFA 2015, CEE Glimpse of Education Teacher’s Excellence Award 2015 under number of research papers/books published category, outstanding scientist award – VIFRA 2015, etc. He has visited several times in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Netherland, Spain, Turkey, etc. for the research work purpose. He is an associate editor/editorial board member of several international journals, like American Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, Journal of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilation, Journal of Thermal Engineering, SOP Transactions on Power Transmission and Smart Grid, Scientific Research and Essays, International Journal of Thermal Energy and Applications, International Journal of I.C. Engines and Gas Turbines, Thermal and Mass Transport, etc. He has also reviewed of several manuscripts for possible publication in reputed international journals. His biography was published in Marquis Who’s Who in the World in 2001. He has been selected as a Lecturer in different institutions like Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Kalyani Government Engineering College, Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur, presently IIESTS, Jadavpur University, etc. He has also been selected as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Jimma University, Ethiopia. He has been appointed as a research academic professor at different institutes like Keen Hee University, South Korea, King Mongkut’s University of Science and Technology, Thanburi, Bangkok, Sejong University, Seoul, Korea, etc. He has been offered to join as a non-tenure track full-time lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Inha University, South Korea in 2009.

Hafiz Muhammad Ali received his PhD (2011) in Mechanical Engineering from Queen Mary, University of London, UK in the area of condensation heat transfer. He then joined Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Engineering and Technology Taxila, Pakistan where he has been teaching to undergrads and postgrads. He worked as postdoctoral fellow (2016) at Mechanical Engineering Department of University of California, Merced, USA. His main research areas are condensation, boiling, nanofluids, phase change materials, thermal systems, desalination and solar energy. He is member of editorial boards of Journal Thermal Science, Strojniški vestnik – Journal of Mechanical Engineering, Journal of Thermal Engineering, the Open Mechanical Engineering Journal and Journal Mechanical Engineering Research.

Enrico Sciubba (M.Eng. Roma 1972, Ph.D. Rutgers, NJ 1981) is Professor of Turbomachinery and of Energy Systems at the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering of the University of Roma Sapienza. He has taught and/or is teaching courses on Turbomachinery, Thermo-Fluiddynamics of Thermal Machinery; Heat transfer; Turbulence; Energy Systems design; Energy Systems Diagnostics; Thermo-Economics: on these topics he is also active as a Lecturer in several international institutions. Dr. Sciubba has held industrial and academic positions in the US and Europe, holds two honorary Doctoral Degrees from foreign Universities, and since 2009 is Director of the Summer School of Thermodynamics of Roma. He has authored or co-authored 4 books (2 in english) and over 200 scientific papers on exergy analysis, CFD-and Process simulation, and advanced turbomachinery design. Professor Sciubba is an ASME Fellow, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Energies, Co-Editor of the E3 Journal and Associate Editor for Energy, the International Journal of Thermodynamics, the International Journal of Energy Research, the International Journal of Exergy, the Sustainability Journal, the Journal of Environment, Energy and Ecology and the Journal of Energy Resources Technologies.

Hakan F. Oztop was born in 1973 in Elazig, Turkey. He is an Associate Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Technology Faculty, Firat University, Elazig, TURKEY. He got the BS Degree from Firat University, Department of Mechanical engineering in 1996, MS and PhD from the same university at 1998 and 2003, respectively. He had been in Ecole Poyltechnique de Montreal, CANADA in 2002 and Auburn University, USA, as a visiting scholar in 2004. He got scholarship from Turkish Research Council (TUBITAK) and NATO for post-doctorate positions. His research has been involved numerical heat transfer and fluid flow in forced, mixed and natural convection through duct or cavities including clear, porous or nanofluid media. He has also experience on second law analysis of thermofluids system , energy efficiency and renewable energy techologies.  In recent years, he deals with energy storage by using Phase Change Materials, thermal batteries and nano particle enhanced Phase Change Materials. He has published 256 papers in SCI journals and 100 research papers in international or national conferences and national journals. His h-index is 46. He is associate editors in journals of International Journal of Mechanical Science (Associate Editor), Thermal Science (Regional Editor) and Engineering Applications of Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Hikmat S. Hilal is a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Advanced Materials. He obtained his Ph.D. and D.Sc. from University of Manchester in 1980 and 2016, respectively. Since then he has joined An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine. His teaching activities span general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, catalysis, solid state and semiconductors, group theory, organometallics and structural methods, for B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels. His research involves solar energy utilization in electricity production and water purification disinfection. Hilal established the first group in Palestine in areas of advanced materials related to solar energy and semiconductor research. His group includes colleagues and students who have published more than 100 articles and conference papers. He published 5 books and research book chapters together with a patent. He has been active in conferences as a member of organizing committees and scientific committees and invited speaker. His works stem from his research lab inside Palestine. He is a permanent reviewer for the highliy ranked journals Electrochimica Acta, Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and others. He established and chaired the Center of Excellence in Materials Sciences and Nano Technology.

Javad Abolfazli Esfahani (Iran 1960), PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada in 1997, is a professor in Mechanical Engineering, Energy conversion, at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. To date, he has published 5 books/chapters, 100 articles in peer reviewed international journals and more than 100 conference papers. He has worked on theoretical and numerical heat and mass transfer such as drying, solar desalination, condensing boiler, and micro/nano-fluidics. Dr. Esfahani is a member of Iranian combustion Institute and Iranian society of mechanical Engineering, Director of Center of Excellence in Energy Management, Certified by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Centre of excellence in modeling and control of system, Ferdowsi university of Mashhad, Centre of excellence in energy conversion, Sharif university of Technology, and editorial boards of Fuel and Combustion (Iranian), IRECHE, Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer Research. He obtains 14 awards for books, research and supervisor of thesis from ISME, Ferdowsi festival, and Iranian combustion society.  He has supervised 9 PhD and 60 MSc theses. Ken-ichi Manabe was awarded his PhD in mechanical engineering in April 1985 from the Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU), Japan. He had been a Professor at the TMU since 2002. After he retired from TMU in 2017, he received the title of Emeritus Professor from TMU. Prof. Manabe has undertaken extensive research on the theory and modelling of tube/sheet metal forming processes and intellectualization of their forming processes for over 40 years. Recently his research interest extends toward microforming technology and deformation mechanics in micro/meso scale. He was gained academic recognition in the Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity (JSTP), the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) and so on. He contributes to promote dissemination of tube forming technology and its theory and modeling. He received the Best Paper Award in 1989, 2009 and 2012 from the JSTP. He received the JSTP Medal in 2010 and attained the grade of Fellow in 2009 from the JSTP. He was the Vice President of the JSTP in 2011-2012, and the President of the JSTP in 2015-2016. He has published 19 book chapters, over 200 refereed journal papers and over 200 refereed conference papers.

Majid R. Ayatollahi (PhD, University of Bristol, UK, 1998) is distinguished professor and director of fatigue and fracture research laboratory in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). His main fields of interest are fracture mechanics, and experimental and computational solid mechanics. Professor Ayatollahi is the author of a book published by Springer International in 2016 titled “Characterization of Carbon Nanotube-Based Composites Under Consideration of Defects”. With an h-index=38, he has published more than 185 fully refereed papers in well-known international (ISI) journals (according to Scopus) and more than 300 papers in the proceedings of national and international conferences. He is currently a member of the editorial boards for six international journals and has served as reviewer for more than 40 international journals. Professor Ayatollahi received a prestigious award as “National Distinguished Professor” in the year 2014 from the Iranian ministry of science, research and technology, a highly competitive award in Iran. In addition, he has achieved several awards from IUST as distinguished professor/researcher in different years. Professor Ayatollahi also received in five consecutive years a prestigious national award from the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers for supervising the best theses in mechanical engineering. He was member of the university research council at IUST for ten years and is currently the Iran’s representative in the Asian Society of Experimental Mechanics. His research lab is now in international research collaboration with several renowned European and East Asian institutions. He has been invited as keynote speaker in several international conferences and universities.

Mohammad Ameri was born in Abadan, Iran in 1956. He is currently a Full Professor and Energy Conversion Chair in the Mechanical and Energy Engineering Department at the Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran, Iran. He received his B.Sc. degree from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, a M.Sc. degree from the Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and a Ph.D. degree from Case Western University, Ohio, the USA in Mechanical Engineering. He was selected as the Outstanding Reviewer for Energy Conversion & Management, Energy and Hydrogen Energy Journals for 2017. He received the Award of the Distinguished Researcher of the Country, Ministry of Higher Education, Iran. He was granted the prestigious Kharazmi national award of the Best Applied Research Project Prize for the Cooperation in the “Design, Modeling & Testing of Deaerator,” Ministry of Higher Education, Iran. He has published more than 120 papers in ISI and peer-reviewed journals and proceedings of international conferences. He is the Editorial member of Journal of Renewable Energy & Environment. He was the National Consultant for “Development Study for Institutional Capacity Development on Energy Management in the Building Sector in the Islamic Republic of Iran” project, JICA Study Team, Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI). He was also the National Technical Advisor for “Iran Industries Energy Efficiency & Conservation Project,” UNDP & GEF. He has been the manager of several research and applied projects. His current research interests include Analysis of Energy Systems, Renewable Energies, Application of Nanofluids in Heat Transfer & Heat Exchangers, Steam & Combined Cycle Power Plants, and Desalination Hybrid Systems.

Nihad Dukhan is among few worldwide scholars who have made sizable contribution to the science and technology of metal foam including the latest book on metal foam and its applications.  His highly-cited publications stand at 142 refereed articles (43 journals; 99 conferences) and one book.   He has been an invited speaker in many national and international conferences.  He has also tackled diverse pedagogical issues in mechanical engineering education.  He received several prestigious awards, including the Faculty Achievement Award (the highest honor from University of Detroit Mercy), Fulbright Scholar Award and Fellow grade of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Sandip Deshmukh is working as Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department of BITS Pilani – Hyderabad campus, India from 2012. Before joining the Hyderabad Campus, he was working at the Centre for Environmental Strategy, University of Surrey, UK as a Research Fellow from 2008 to 2012, working on EPSRC funded research projects. Before joining the centre, he worked for five years as a Lecturer in Amravati University, India and for eight years as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor at BITS, Pilani – Pilani Campus, India. He holds a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s in Thermal Power Engineering from Amravati University and a PhD from BITS, Pilani on ‘Region-wise Development of Integrated Renewable Energy Systems’. His main research interest relate to regional energy planning with a focus on decentralized energy supply options and energy resource allocation for socio-economic and techno-economic development; and has more than 15 international journal publications to his credit. He has expertise in identifying and characterizing options for energy supply for the different development types and their integration with other service sectors such as water, waste and transport.
